Boy Scouts with Greenawalds Troop 8 were presented a proclamation from South Whitehall Township, Dec. 16 for support of the "HOWL" program in Lehigh County.

The troop had a car wash to help pay for custom bullet-resistant vests for area K-9 dogs.

"HOWL" stands for Hounds On Working Leashes, a program instituted to help protect police dogs who are frequently being maimed or killed by perpetrators at crime scenes.

Presenting the award were South Whitehall Township Commissioner David Bond and Board President Tori Morgan.
