Schnecksville man inducted into'Million Mile Club'

A Schnecksville man and five Easton City postal carriers were inducted into the prestigious National Safety Council's "Million Mile Club" on Dec. 11 for having more than 30 years of accident free driving on the job.

City carriers Richard Turk, of Schnecksville, Darryl Crum, Donald Detweiler, Steven Diehl, Richard Statler, and Warren Wilson Jr. each received a Million Mile plaque and jacket at the ceremony.

Turk began his postal career in May 1978; Crum in January 1976; Detweiler and Diehl in January 1980; Statler in September 1963; and Wilson began his postal career in February 1982.

To be qualified for the Million Mile distinction, a professional driver must drive accident free for either 30 years or 1 million miles.
