BETHLEHEM ROTARY: Tastes & Tunes benefit

The Bethlehem Rotary Club hosted a Tastes & Tunes fundraiser recently at the Hotel Bethlehem. Proceeds from this event benefit the Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley.

Different food vendors from the region's restaurants offered delicious varieties of cuisine as well as a live and silent auctions and music by Freddy Frederick Entertainment.

The Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley offers a wide variety of programs.

The Basilio Huertas Senior Center provides breakfast and lunch meals to 40-60 senior citizens Monday through Friday as well as providing them with case management services to help with navigating through the health care system, prescription usage, language translation and mental health referrals.

The Linny Fowler Hispanic Youth Center offers K-8 students the opportunity to participate in organized activities designed to improve academic skills from 3 to 6 p.m. daily and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the summer.

WIC (Women, Infant & Children) provides nutritional supplements and dietary education to women, infants and children. This program serves 12,600 participants per year.

The Food Pantry, staffed mainly by volunteers since its opening in 2012, serves an average of 250 Bethlehem residents monthly.
