Soon someone will be watching what goes on at the Coplay Public Library.

The Coplay Community Days committee donated $350 for the purchase of security cameras.

Board President Janet Eisenhauer said she met with borough Secretary-Treasurer Sandra Gyecsek to learn about the borough's use of security cameras.

"[Gyecsek] showed me what they use at the pool. It's really cool. It's a really neat system," Eisenhauer said.

The feed from the cameras will go to the Coplay police station.

"We obviously could have the option to have the feed go to somewhere else but at this point the police department is the best place," said Eisenhauer.

Public works Director Dan Pavelko should be able to install the cameras at the library, she said.

Eisenhauer plans to ask police Chief Vincent Genovese what he recommends as far as camera placement.

At least one camera should be placed downstairs, she said.

The cameras will be on 24 hours a day. A motion detector will set off an alarm after hours to alert police of any problems, she said.
