Kaela Bitting, of Coplay, a rising sophomore majoring in music education with an instrumental emphasis, was recently inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, the honor society for first-year students, at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove.
The 2012 graduate of Parkland High School is the daughter of Dwight and Cheryl Bitting.
The purpose of this national honor society is to encourage superior scholastic attainment among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their unique roles in society.
Eligible students must achieve a semester or cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher during their first year of full-time study.
