For the pre-election stories, The Press asked the candidates in the Municipal Election the following question: Why should voters choose you in the Nov. 5 election?
Republican Ronald J. Heintzelman and Democrat Karen Komlos are each seeking the one, six-year seat on the board.
Ron Heintzelman
I am running for re-election of North Whitehall Township supervisor. After having served for two terms, I feel the position of working supervisor is still beneficial to the community. With two non-working supervisors, I am available for daily operations of the township and for citizens who call the township with concerns.
It has been my pleasure to have served the last 12 years and look forward to serving another six-year term.
Karen Komlos
I oppose the planned location of a massive sewage treatment plant which would dump into the Jordan Creek.
I will seek to repeal/revise the Act 537 sewage treatment concept plan.
I oppose the "working/paid supervisor" concept and will seek to eliminate that position.
I believe it's time to change our township solicitor.
I believe it's time to manage development with care, without backroom self-serving politics.
I believe it's time to elect an experienced, hardworking, outside the box thinker.
