Republican Richard Celmer and Democrat Sam Neas are each seeking election to the one open seat for a two-year term on the North Whitehall Board of Supervisors.
Richard Celmer
I entered the election for township supervisor bringing more than 30 years of experience working as a project manager for a consulting engineering firm representing 28 boroughs and townships of the first and second class on public works projects together with their planning commissions reviewing subdivision and land development plans. I have served more than 23 years on the North Whitehall Township Planning Commission with the past five years as chairman.
Sam Neas
I have lived in North Whitehall for over 20 years and have seen the community experience major changes.
Actively involved in township issues for the past six years, I am a parent looking to maintain a community like I had, so my child can grow and flourish in a rural/suburban area.
I want a sustainable community that can support its residents for a long time.
Currently the laws allow for zoning issues causing strife in the community. Sewage treatment plants and development are a necessary evil, however, the location should reflect where they are most needed in our township.
I would like to maintain the rural character of our township while moving the community into the future with smart, appropriate development.
