A 10:30 a.m. polka Mass will kick off St. Peter's Catholic Church's 59th annual homecoming picnic Aug. 4.
The Schanta Band will perform the music at the event, to take place at the church, located between Coplay and Center streets and Fifth and Sixth streets.
The one-day festival is one of the major events held in the community each summer.

A Dip-N-Dance is set for 6-9 p.m. Friday at the parkway pool.
A Christmas in July event at the pool is scheduled for the following Friday, July 25.

St. John's Lutheran Church will hold its annual vacation Bible school for children July 22-26 at the church on South Third Street.
The theme is "Son West Roundup."

Summer reading continues at the Coplay Public Library.
In addition, a movie night is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25 when "A Bug's Life" will be shown.
Popcorn and a drink will be provided.

The Coplay Senior Citizens are sponsoring a bus trip for Thuesday, Dec. 12, to Hunterdon Hills for "A Christmas Playhouse 2013."

The Borough of Coplay is finishing up installing handicap curbs throughout the town.
The project, which has taken place over the last several years, is the result of a federal mandate requiring all municipalities to install curbing at intersections to allow those using wheelchairs and other transit equipment to more easily maneuver around the borough.
The borough may have the distinction of being first in the region to complete such the project.
Funding came from a Community Development Block Grant administered via Lehigh County.

It should be brighter during the evening hours at Coplay Community Days this year.
Three light posts will be erected and illuminated along the macadam paths at the borough parkway, where the event takes place Aug. 23-25.
The borough's public works personnel are busy with the project, which includes some minor excavation, concrete pouring and electrical wiring.

The Coplay Convenience Store which opened in recent months at the former J&R Market on Chestnut Street has shut down.
