The reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place at the George Taylor House July 4 at 10 a.m.
The George Taylor House will also be open for tours from 9 a.m. to noon.

Hot July news for all Catasauqua Garden Club members: Fran Cundall has been forced to cancel her presentation on native plant alternatives for the July meeting.
The show, however, will go on as Linc Coffin, Pennsylvania master gardener, will discuss the pros and cons of growing fruit in the backyard garden.
The meeting is scheduled for July 10 at 1 p.m. at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.
Items for judging must be in place by 12:45 p.m.
Garden friendly visitors are always welcome.

The Catasauqua Thrift Shop half-price sale continues through July 13. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

The Catasauqua Recreation Department has scheduled Bill Murray and the Crossover Band for July 5 in the park at 7 p.m.
Also, on July 12 a movie night, with the showing "Arthur's Christmas," is scheduled at dusk in the park.
