Joyful giving! According to Allentown Soup Kitchen organizer Dawn Fisher of Heidelberg Church, 191 hot meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless.
The meal consisted of barbeque chicken, buttered noodles, tossed salad, fruit cup and delicious baked goods decorated for Valentine's Day from many faithful Heidelberg bakers. The vegetables for the salad were purchased with Heidelberg Church donations.
Special thanks to the following volunteers of the day: Pastor David Hess, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Julia and Arlan Hill, Shirley Boger, Howard Truitt, Joan and Carl Hein and Dawn and Ed Fisher.
Request for baked goods decorated for St. Patrick's Day are being sought for March 11.
Donations may be dropped off at fellowship hall 6-7 p.m.
To find out more about helping at the soup kitchen, call Dawn at 610-266-0414.
