LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK Andie Fullerton

Q: What grade are you in?

A: I am currently a senior at Emmaus High School.

Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?

A: My favorite subject is calculus because even though it is challenging, it really makes me think. It is always exciting to get to the end of a really tough problem and realize that the answer is correct. Math has always been my favorite subject because there is only one answer to every problem which makes it easy to know whether you are right or wrong.

Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A: I was accepted into the National Honor Society as well as the Spanish Honor Society my junior year. Also in my junior year, I won the Outstanding Academic Excellence Award for Spanish 4 and I ranked nationally for the French 1 Le Grand Concours test. I have also been on the Principal's Honor Roll every marking period.

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A: I am involved in Pa. Math League at school which is a math contest held every month for schools in Pennsylvania. It consists of six challenging questions on various math topics with a time limit of 30 minutes.

Q: What is your next goal after high school?

A: My next goal after high school is to continue my education in college. I am not exactly sure where I want to go yet, but I do know that I want to major in math in order to become an actuary later in life.

Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

A: My biggest challenge so far has probably been trying to break my bad habit of procrastination. I tend to wait until the last minute to do big projects and research papers. So far I have managed to turn everything in on time, but it is going to get a lot harder when I go to college. I need to learn how to start projects sooner so that I am not overwhelmed the day before something is due.

Q: What do you want to be remembered for?

A: I hope to be remembered for being kind and considerate of all my classmates. This is important to me because I enjoy learning new things and I hope that I am also remembered for my academic success and helping others to be successful as well.

Q: Who is in your family?

A: My family consists of my dad, James, my mom, Sonya, and my brother, Carlos who is a junior at Emmaus.

Q: Do you have someone you look up to?

A: I would say that I look up to my parents because they have always been there for me and have supported me throughout my life. Both of them have encouraged me to be the best person I can be and to always try my hardest in everything I do. They have made me into the person I am today and I feel lucky to have such incredible and dedicated parents.

Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?

A: My advice would be to stay true to who you are and to always believe in yourself.
