State police release information on fatal crash

State Police Troop M Fogelsville have released more information regarding the death of a 28-year-old Kempton woman who was killed Jan. 2 when her vehicle collided with a pickup truck around 4:18 a.m. on Route 100 North, just north of George Road, Lowhill Township.

According to police, Alisha M. Heilman, of 279 Quaker City Road, was driving a 2004 BMW X3 sport utility vehicle north on Route 100, when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck head-on a 2005 Ford F250 driven by Daniel John Hartman, 46, of Germansville.

Police say Heilman, who was not wearing her seat belt, was transported to Lehigh Valley Hopital, Salisbury Township.

Hartman, who was wearing his seat belt, was also transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said Heilman was pronounced dead at 4:56 a.m. in the hospital.

The cause of her death is attributed to multiple blunt force injuries, said Grim, who ruled her death an accident.
