The Upper Macungie Township Recreation Board has adopted a policy for removal of members who do not attend meetings.

If a member misses three consecutive meetings, and does not have a viable excuse, the board will recommend to supervisors they replace that person.

Recycling bids are expected to be reviewed by Upper Macungie supervisors at their Nov. 1 meeting.

As there was no planning commission report at the supervisors' Oct. 4 meeting, the police report was the next item on the agenda.

Chief Edgardo Colon reported everything is going smoothly with the transition from the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department.

Twenty-five recuits are undergoing testing for positions on the force.

Colon is seeking recognition from the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission.

This organization is devoted to recognizing the outstanding law enforcement departments in the state showing exceptionally high standards in the pursuit of their duties.

The traffic analysis was completed for the intersection of Chapmans and Ruppsville roads and it has been determined a stop sign is justified at this intersection.

The analysis will be submitted to PennDOT for its concurrence and approval. After approval, an ordinance must be adopted to allow the sign to be erected.

A few residents complained about tree branches obscuring some stop signs in the township.

Public Works Director Scott Faust said he would look into the complaints.

"No Parking" signs and 35 mph speed limit signs will be erected along Morris Court.

Before adjourning for the evening, supervisors noted they would not be accepting raises this year.
