The Upper Lehigh Historical Society welcomes the public to a presentation by David Adam 7 p.m. on Nov. 1, at the Schneck House.

Active in the Grundsow Lodge and other Pa. German culture activities, Adam will speak on Pa. Dutch vocabulary.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will host its fifth annual fall basket party 5-8 p.m. Oct. 26 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 27.

The kitchen will be open both days with members serving homemade soups, turkey barbecue, baked beans, homemade desserts and more.

For holiday gift-giving, Friends of the Parkland Community Library is having a Pasta with Personality fundraiser.

Pasta in fun shapes, such as dogs, cats or zoo animals will be available, as well as pasta salad mixes packaged with college mascots.

The Penn Northeast Conference of the United Church of Christ is celebrating its 50th anniversary Nov. 4 at Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

At 2 p.m., there will be a cupcake reception in honor of denomination president, the Rev. Geoffrey Black, and global missionary, the Rev. Jeffrey Mensendiek.

Conference minister, the Rev. Alan Miller, will join the Rev. Black for a dialogue sermon 2:45 p.m.

Bagpipers will end the afternoon with a performance of "Amazing Grace" at 3 p.m.

In 1962, Reformed churches in the area gathered at Neffs Union Church to covenant together in formation of the conference of the young UCC denomination.
