A Lancaster County man died Oct. 4 when his tractor-trailer was struck by another tractor-trailer at 7529 Morris Court, Upper Macungie Township.
Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said Richard James, 54, of 675 N. Ridge Road, Reinholds, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:09 a.m. by Deputy Coroner Wendy Brantley.
Grim said the cause of James' death was multiple blunt force injuries. He ruled his death an accident.
According to Berks-Lehigh Regional police, James was standing outside of his parked tractor-trailer at 5:58 a.m. when the rig was struck from behind by an eastbound tractor-trailer driven by Ronald Dawley, 44, of Oswego, N.Y.
As a result of the crash, James was caught underneath his tractor-trailer, police say.
