The Northampton Area Public Library will hold its annual autumn basket social Friday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m., at the Northampton Memorial Community Center, 16th Street and Laubach Avenue.

Donations of new or collectible items, gift certificates/cards and money to help defray expenses are being accepted.

Food will be available for purchase.

Assumption BVM Church will hold its annual picnic Sunday, Sept. 9, at Egypt Memorial Park, beginning with a Mass in the pavilion at 11 a.m.

Entertainment by the Emil Schanta Band begins at 3 p.m.

Games, food and other activities continue until 7 p.m.

The St. John's Friendly Fifties group will hold its 21st anniversary meeting Monday, Sept. 10, 1 p.m., in the church's social hall, 1343 Newport Ave.

The rosary will be prayed at 11:30 a.m. in the church. Lunch will be provided. Mike Skweir will provide the music.
