Parkland School District and regional emergency responders conducted a large-scale emergency drill simulating an active shooter entering the high school during a school day.

More than 100 school district staff and police cadets played the roles of teachers, parents and students during the exercise on Aug. 8, which allowed emergency responders and staff to practice crisis response plans.

Taking part in the drill were: South Whitehall Township police and firefighters, Northeast Pennsylvania Regional Counter Terrorism Task Force,

State Police Troop M Fogelsville and Bethlehem, Lehigh County Emergency Services and Special Operations, Allentown, Whitehall and Berks-Lehigh Regional police departments, Cetronia Ambulance Corps, St. Luke's and Lehigh Valley MedEvac and representatives from Upper Macungie and North Whitehall townships.
