Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will have its annual Blues Nite Out with entertainment and refreshments on two evenings in the lovely church grove.
The Bryant Brothers will perform 7-10 p.m. on Aug. 24. Groovitude, a young band from Center Valley, will be on stage from 4-6:30 p.m. Aug. 25
Sarah Ayers will be returning to Neffs grove from 7-10 p.m. that Saturday after a two-year absence due to vocal chord concerns.
Ayers has slowly returned to singing by limiting her engagements. She is now eager to make her seventh appearance at Blues Nite.
Through the years, Ayers has won many Lehigh Valley music awards, including best singer, best band and best live performance.
Come and enjoy the music, fellowship, and food outdoors before the summer season ends.
The menu includes sausage sandwiches, turkey barbecues and hot dogs.
There will be chili on Friday and pulled pork sandwiches and shrimp delight on Saturday. Homemade baked goods and ice cream will also be available.
Union UCC reports the Allentown Rescue Mission is running low on basic necessities for men.
The church is collecting men's new underwear, undershirts, socks, jeans and belts.
Although we know homeless people need food, many times the need for basic clothes items is not recognized.
These items may be dropped off at the church for delivery to the Rescue Mission.
