“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go” ~ Unknown

You may have noticed recent changes to the library collections.

To make room for new materials, we are removing older items.

CD audiobooks have been retired and are available for purchase at the Friends of the Library Book Shop.

Physical audiobooks, known as Playaways, remain available for borrowing.

Streaming e-audiobooks are also available through the Libby and hoopla apps.

So many monthlong celebrations in November!

The library has something for everyone, from Native American Heritage Month to Picture Book Month to Career Development Month to Family Literacy Month to Model Railroad Month.

Whatever topic interests you, it’s here!

Celebration days include Diwali, Veterans Day, World Origami Day, Thanksgiving, and Charles Schulz’s birthday!

Want to learn more about these celebrations?

The library has a book for that!

The library staff members enjoyed meeting you at the North Whitehall Senior Day and all the Trunk or Treats in October!

We look forward to the winter celebrations out in the community.

The library is once again a Toys for Tots drop-off location.

Please bring your new, unwrapped items for donation.

Thank you to those who have taken our Youth Services Programming survey.

If you have not, it is open until Nov. 20.

We are seeking your feedback on events for ages newborn through 17.

The library will also be seeking your input in 2027 as we start a new Strategic Plan. Let your voice be heard!

Looking for holiday gifts?

Visit the Friends of the Library Book Shop for books and puzzles.

Please note that the library will be closed for the holiday starting at 5 p.m. on Nov. 25 and will remain closed on Nov. 26 and 27.

What are we thankful for this year? Our supportive community!

Maryellen Kanarr is the executive director of the Parkland Community Library, South Whitehall.
