Following its first defeat of the regular season back in early September, the Parkland High School girls soccer team went on a run of victories, stringing together six wins in a row.
But back on Sept. 28, the Trojans lost to first-place Nazareth before bouncing back to win two straight games, one in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and one a nonconference match.
Parkland shutout Whitehall on the road last Thursday 3-0 and then downed Central Dauphin 1-0 at home that Saturday.
In the victory over the Zephyrs, the Trojans scored all three of their goals in the second half, two of which came from Mia Russell.
Kennedy Perkins rounded out the scoring with the third goal. Mackenzie McNeeley tallied two assists on the night.
Whitehall did not have any shots, while Parkland had 18.
Stats from the game with the Rams were not made available at the time of print.
Parkland is now 10-2 overall and 9-2 in the conference. The Trojans have a busy, three-game week and opened it with a home game with Pocono Mountain East this past Wednesday night. They are at Central Catholic on Friday and then go out of conference for a game at Council Rock South on Saturday morning.
The last week of the regular season is next week.
