Falcon girls soccer beats Lynx to snap short skid

Salisbury snapped a three-game slide with a 5-1 win over Oley Valley in a nonleague game on Friday. The Falcons had suffered losses to Wilson, Palisades and Bangor leading up to Friday’s game.

The five goals were the most by Salisbury since they shut out Wilson 6-0 on Sept. 16. Between the two multigoal games, the Falcons scored just one goal during their losing streak.

In their win over the Lynx, Molly Foley scored three goals. The sophomore has scored seven goals in the last six games.

Auriana Bobo and Lauren Scialla both scored single goals with Scialla picking up three assists in the win.

Defensively, Charlotte Neuhs got the start in goal and made seven saves, allowing just one goal.

In a pair of road games leading up to the win over Oley, Salisbury was shutout by Palisades 2-0 and then fell to Bangor in a 5-1 loss.

Salisbury moved to 5-4-0 overall and 3-4-0 in Colonial League games.

This week presents the toughest challenge of the season for the Falcons as they face four games in four days with three of the games coming against the top teams in the league.

The stretch begins with a home game against Notre Dame of Green Pond (7-1-0, 7-1-0) and is followed by games at Pen Argyl (2-8-1, 1-7-0) and Palmerton (8-2-2, 5-2-2) before the Falcons come back home to play Northwestern Lehigh (10-1-0, 8-0-0).
