School spirit on display at Allentown Central Catholic High School

ACCHS has had a busy October filled with athletic and academic achievements, community service and school spirit.

The fall postseason is off to a strong start for the ACCHS Vikettes tennis team. Maddie Groff won the District 11 2A girls tennis championship, while Valentina Munoz finished third. The team continued its success in the District 11 doubles tournament, where Julia Janis and Michaela Durie earned third-place medals and Munoz and Giada Montone placed second after a competitive final against Moravian Academy.

On Oct. 11, the ACCHS Viking Marching Band participated in the Macungie Halloween Parade. The band will continue to spread Viking spirit throughout the community by appearing in local Halloween parades during October.

On Oct. 13, the ACCHS Ethics Bowl Team competed in the 2026 Fleming High School Ethics Bowl. The six-student team discussed an ethical case involving health care. The event gave students an opportunity to apply ethical reasoning and critical thinking to real-world issues.

The Vikette Volleyball team’s annual CYO Night, held Oct. 14 in Rockne Hall, was a success.

On Oct. 15, ACCHS students accompanied Principal Mrs. Young to the Bridge Foundation scholarship check presentation at Notre Dame High School. The Bridge Foundation provides tuition assistance to families across the diocese, helping make Catholic education more accessible.

The Viking boys soccer team hosted a teacher appreciation event to recognize people who have made a lasting impact on players’ lives. The event provided an opportunity for players to thank those who have supported them throughout their high school careers.

Homecoming Spirit Week brought excitement and school spirit to ACCHS as students participated in themed dress-down days and activities. Tuesday featured students wearing their favorite jerseys, while Wednesday’s theme, ‘On Wednesdays We Wear Pink,’ added color to the halls. Thursday’s Age Day and Friday’s green-and-gold theme brought more creative outfits. The homecoming pep rally took place Friday and featured games and performances by the Viking Marching Band, Dance Team, Cheerleaders and Mance Team. That evening, the Vikings faced the Parkland Trojans in the homecoming game.
