DUI crash

A 49-year-old motorist, of Colmar, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash in the area of Yeakels Mill Road and Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, 5:39 p.m. Sept. 18, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Macungie Ambulance also responded.

Crashes

An Allentown motorist was injured when they allegedly drove into a garage near a residence in the 4700 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 7:51 a.m. Sept. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The driver was attempting to make a right turn onto Hamilton Boulevard from Dunkin’, 4777 Hamilton Blvd., and instead drove straight, going off the road and into a garage. Macungie EMS took the motorist to Lehigh Valley Hospital, South Cedar Crest Boulevard, for treatment. Stews Tire’s Center also responded. The garage was inspected by the Lower Macungie Fire Department, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Scenic View Drive and Gehman Road, Lower Macungie Township, at approximately 8:10 p.m. Sept. 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Two witnesses told state police a motorist was making a left turn from a stop at a stop sign on Scenic View Road onto Gehman Road “when the pedestrian improperly entered the roadway.” The vehicle was described as traveling “at a very low speed” at the time. The pedestrian was evaluated by Macungie Ambulance personnel and taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, South Cedar Crest Boulevard. The driver waited at the crash scene to talk with authorities.

A 20-year-old motorcyclist, of Pennsburg, was hurt when he flipped over the handlebars of his motorcycle and was trapped under the vehicle in a crash along Kings Highway South, Upper Milford Township, 7:39 p.m. Aug. 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorcycle was traveling southbound when the driver lost control on a curve. The motorcyclist had minor injuries to his knees, back and face. He was evaluated by a crew from Macungie EMS at the scene but refused to be taken to a hospital for treatment. Yocum Towing and Upper Milford Township volunteer firefighters also responded.

Public drunkenness

A 47-year-old male, of Alburtis, was cited for public drunkenness after he fell from his bicycle and allegedly admitted to having taken methamphetamine in an incident in the area of Church Lane and Trexlertown Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:45 a.m. Sept. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The bicyclist was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

Retail theft

A 21-year-old female, of Allentown, was arrested for theft of items valued at $48.84 at gas station and convenience store Wawa, 4900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, Sept. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Criminal mischief

A vehicle window was smashed at Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, 5661 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Sept. 14.

Theft

Someone removed 750 feet of bare stranded copper wire, valued at $6,375; 300 feet of coated black and 150 feet of white coated stranded copper wire, with a value of $900; 150 feet of solid coated copper wire, valued at $225 and safety grounds from a construction site along Palm Road, Lower Milford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The theft was reported 6:45 a.m. Sept. 9.

An $1,800 theft was reported by a resident of Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, Aug. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A resident of Yorkshire Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned of $494.64 in fraudulent credit card transactions to their account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The situation was reported Sept. 7.

Simple trespass

A 45-year-old male, of Somerset, was arrested 11:18 p.m. Sept. 11 for allegedly throwing rocks at a residence along Emmaus Road, Lower Milford Township, after having been chased from the property twice before, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

DUI

A motorist was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 5300 block of Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, 1:08 a.m. Sept. 20, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Drug possession

A juvenile allegedly had a THC vaping device at Eyer Middle School, 5616 Buckeye Road, Lower Macungie Township, Sept. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Retail theft

Someone attempted to fraudulently purchase $4,000 in Apple products at retailer Costco Wholesale, 791 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:23 a.m. Sept. 18, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The person fled the store when confronted by loss prevention personnel.

Identity theft

A resident of South Drive, Lower Macungie Township, was deceived into providing personal information to a caller posing as someone from Apple Identity Support, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The caller also used the resident’s banking information to attempt to make $600 in fraudulent purchases, according to authorities. The resident reported the situation Sept. 13.

A resident of Mountain Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned a leasing account was opened using their personal information, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Sept. 4.

A resident of Buttercup Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned four credit card accounts were opened using their personal information, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The situation was reported Sept. 14.
