LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Salisbury field hockey falls to PA, beats MA, NL

It was another strong week for the Salisbury field hockey team.

The Falcons played three games and opponents 14-2 while winning two and tying one.

Thirteen of the goals came in two games and just one in the third that led to a 1-1 tie against Pen Argyl. The Falcons took out some frustrations against Moravian Academy and Northern Lehigh with a 7-0 shutout against the Lions and a 6-1 win against the Bulldogs.

Against Moravian Academy, Ava Morgans and Ryley Shoemaker both scored a pair of goals to lead the Falcons. Anna Grubb, Ella Morgans, and Ellie Schneider all came up with a goal to push Salisbury to a 7-9 win.

Individual statistics for the tie against Pen Argyl and the win over Northern Lehigh are not available.

Salisbury improved to 7-1-1 overall and 6-0-1 in Colonial League play as the season nears the halfway point.

This week’s slate of games opens with a home game against Palisades. The Falcons are then in flight for four games in a row and play at Saucon Valley on Thursday before having a few days off and going back on the road next week. They have three straight home games coming up on the schedule as well, starting with Saucon Valley on Oct. 5.
