The Parkland cross country teams opened the season at the Northampton Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 5.
The Trojan boys team finished fourth out of 31 teams at the meet, while the PHS girls took sixth place in a field of 28 teams.
Cole Orloski led Parkland with an eighth-place finish in the boys race, followed by teammates Isaiah Wilson (23rd), Derek Taveras (31st), Alexander Abosamra (33rd) and Keshav Patel (44th) to round out the Trojans’ team score. Jaiden Zabler (51st) and Ezra Wilson (93rd) also competed for the Parkland boys team at the meet.
Harshita Keerthi led the Parkland girls team with a 17th-place overall finish. Anastansia Pino (38th), Lilah Ellis (47th), Amara Saadeh (54th) and Dani Schultz (55th) made up the rest of Parkland’s top five at the meet. Rebecca Vazquies (57th) and Kenzie Schultz (60th) also ran for the Trojans.
Emmaus won the boys team title at the Northampton Invitational with Dallastown taking the girls team title. Parkland was the top-finishing District 11 girls team at the meet, taking one place higher than Emmaus.
