Historical society’s annual Pioneer Apple Fest Oct. 3

Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society will be holding its Pioneer Apple Fest 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 at Ontelaunee Park, New Tripoli.

There will be an apple pie contest, vendors, pioneer era demonstrations and more.

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 4 with a display of the church’s historical artifacts in celebration of the Allemaengel 250th. This event is open to the community. For more information, contact the church historian at 610-554-6249.

The church will also be holding its free annual Trunk or Treat community event from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 24.

There will candy, games and food.

Trunk or Treat will take place from 1-1:30 p.m.

Food and activities will be held from 1:30-3 p.m.

They will also be hosting Vinces Famous Cheesesteaks Food Truck for a fundraiser noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 8.

Vince’s will donate $1 for every sandwich sold right back to the church.

Christ’s Church at Lowhill will also be selling homemade baked goods and soup to-go.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be accepting orders until Oct. 4 for their hoagie sale.

Options available are regular Italian with everything or no peppers, no onions with peppers, no onions or peppers, ham and cheese; no onions or peppers, turkey; no onions or peppers, roast beef; no onions or peppers, tuna and veggie.

Ingredients supplied by Thomson’s Meat Market, Walnutport.

Hoagie pickup will take place 4-6 p.m. Oct. 13.

They will also be accepting orders until Oct. 22 for their Kauffman’s Chicken Barbecue. The meal will include half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce and roll. The church will be holding its legendary all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 7. The meal includes two huge homemade meatballs, a salad, drink and homemade dessert. Take out is also available. Tickets are available at the door. There is a cost for adults and children 5-12 years old. Children 4-years-old and under are free. Handicap accessible if needed at end of church, lower level. They will also be having a basket raffle. For more information, call the church at 610-395-0067.

Zions Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, will be holding its Apple Dumpling Festival 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10.

The church has filled its craft spaces already and secured The Perk-up Truck, and Top of the Hill Grill.

They are seeking gift baskets/items for the basket raffle, and donations of desserts to sell at the dessert table.
