EHS girls soccer gets to 8-0
The Emmaus High School girls soccer team kept its undefeated run to open the 2026 regular season going last week, winning all three of its games, all in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.
The Hornets began the week with a 5-1 victory over Northampton last Tuesday, Sept. 15, then took down Dieruff 9-0 the next day before shutting out Easton 6-0 on Saturday.
In the win over the Kids, Emmaus scored early and often in the first half as they found the back of the net four times in the first six minutes.
Freshman Brooke Evans, who finished with three goals, started the scoring with a goal in just the second minute. Lizzy Bender and Cecilia Albeck were the other two goal scorers. Bender added three assists and Giuliana Meyer contributed two.
Both Zoe Reppert and Morgan Betz finished with six saves in net, as the two teams both had 13 shots.
In the victory against Dieruff, there were nine different goal scorers, as Evans, Bender, Meyer, Blair Stephens, Sofia Isaksson, Dempsey Hochbein, Makayla McGinnis, Autumn Scheuermann, Brynn Campbell and Amelia Lower all found the back of the net. Betz finished with one save in goal for the win.
The game with the Red Rovers, the scoring was led by two goals each from Albeck and Evans and then one each by Bender and Ella Daly. Bender added two assists, along with Meyer, Albeck and Ella Scharper.
Emmaus, which improved to 8-0 overall and 7-0 in the conference, is tied in first place in the EPC with Nazareth, who is 8-0, 6-0. The Hornets have a three-game week this week, all conference matches. They were at Freedom this past Monday night, host East Stroudsburg South on Wednesday night and then are at Stroudsburg Friday afternoon.
