Liberty’s field hockey team is the only city squad heading into the week with a postseason berth still on its radar.

The Hurricanes (4-6) went 1-2 last week beating East Stroudsburg South 11-0 coupled by losses to Parkland and Hazleton.

The Hurricanes were shut out 6-0 by Parkland on Sept. 14 before responding with their biggest offensive performance of the season against East Stroudsburg South. Liberty then dropped a 2-1 decision to Hazleton on Saturday.

Liberty will have three games this week, beginning Tuesday at Pocono Mountain East. The Hurricanes will host Pleasant Valley on Thursday before traveling to Palmerton on Friday.

Freedom (2-8) also grabbed a victory out of their three games last week. The Patriots opened with a 5-0 loss at Stroudsburg, then bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Pocono Mountain West.

Freedom closed the week with a 6-0 loss to Northampton. The Patriots will look to rebound Tuesday when they visit Bethlehem Catholic before hosting Emmaus on Thursday.

Bethlehem Catholic (0-8) is coming off two difficult losses, falling 8-0 to Northampton and 13-0 at Easton.
