To the Editor:

It’s troubling to consider that Congressman Ryan Mackenzie might win reelection in November, when polls show that many people who voted for Donald Trump disapprove of his performance. There are few legislators who have supported President Trump’s policies, actions and behavior as diligently as Congressman Mackenzie.

We wouldn’t be in so many domestic and international messes if Mackenzie and his peers weren’t constantly enabling the president’s miscalculations and missteps, while also ceding their congressional power and responsibilities.

If reelected, Ryan Mackenzie will continue his unwavering support of President Trump and the alarming, harmful actions and outcomes that we’ve all been witnessing and experiencing. Outcomes that include increasingly higher prices hurting American households and businesses; holdbacks of budgeted federal funds from Pennsylvania; staggering national debt increases; expensive, poorly planned military exploits that fail to achieve objectives while depleting our arsenal; a deadly measles outbreak; and much more.

Please consider that a vote for Ryan Mackenzie in November would effectively be a vote for Donald Trump and an endorsement of his failing policies. Only by sending yes-men like Mackenzie packing can we restore sorely needed checks and balances and prevent further harm to our beloved nation.
