Jeffrey R. Hoffert, 73, of Bethlehem, died Sept. 13, 2026. He was the son of the late Walter and Elizabeth D. “Betty” (Troxell) Hoffert, Sr., and the husband of Judith R. (Ritter) Hoffert for 52 years.

He was a graduate of Liberty HS, where he played football at Liberty and Northeast.

In his younger days he worked at Judy’s father’s store, Sanitary Food Market, where they met.

He worked at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. Blast Furnace for 30 years, and six years at the plant in Sparrows Point, Maryland. After retiring he was a custodian at the LVIA. He was a member of AFL-CIO Local Steelworkers Union.

He was a member of Emmanuel E.C. Church in Bethlehem.

He was active in the City Line Little League, coaching girls softball to two championships; in 1988 with his daughter Tara and in 1995 with his daughter Laura. He and Judy played darts for the Suburban Church Dart league for over 60 years. He also played softball for Salem Lutheran Church. He was a former JAYCEES member. Jeff and Judy had their own flea market business for over 20 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: son Lawrence Hoffert, husband of Laura Beth; daughters Tara Willard, wife of Randy, and Laura Hoffert; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Autumn, MaKayla, Josiah, Isaac, Brielle and Charis; brothers Walter R. Hoffert Jr., husband of Patricia, Joseph R. Hoffert, husband of Linda, and Jere R. Hoffert, husband of Mary; and many nieces and nephews; dogs Diva, Ellie and Hope.
