Michael R. Gischel, 63, of South Whitehall Twp., died Aug. 30, 2026, with his family by his side at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

He was the husband of Trisha A. (Turner) Gischel, with whom he shared nearly 28 years of marriage.

Born in Phillipsburg, N.J., he was the son of Carol (O’Hearn) Gischel of Easton and the late James Gischel.

He worked as a project manager for 30 years.

For the past year, he worked at Lutron.

He will be remembered for his love of many sports teams, especially the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Flyer’s, Boston Celtics and Cincinnati Reds.

Mostly, he loved his family immensely.

Whether he was attending concerts, listening to rock music or following his son Kyle’s band, “Richard,” he always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by his long-haired Dachshunds, “Jasper” and “Scrappy,” and his never-forgotten late dog “Oscar,” and his cat “Spicy” can’t be left out.

He is survived by his wife Trisha; mother Carol; son Kyle and his wife Jessica; daughter Heather Gischel and her companion Jordon Kirkland; two brothers, James Jr. and his wife Melissa, Scott and his wife Connie; sister Kelly Jasman; grandson Brayden Kirkland; as well as many nieces and nephews.

His memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m.
