DUI arrests

A 43-year-old male motorist, of Salisbury Township, was arrested Sept. 5 for allegedly driving under the influence and careless driving in the area of East Susquehanna Street and Maumee Avenue, according to Salisbury police.

A 23-year-old male motorist, of Allentown, was arrested Sept. 6 for allegedly driving under the influence, failing to stop at a stop sign and driving without motor vehicle insurance along East Susquehanna Street at Vermont Avenue, according to Salisbury police.

Retail theft arrests

A 59-year-old woman, of Allentown, was charged Sept. 1 with retail theft after she allegedly removed a total of $469.58 in merchandise from supermarket Giant, South Mall, 3300 Lehigh St., in two thefts between July and August, according to Salisbury police.

A 34-year-old male, of Massachusetts, was charged Sept. 5 with retail theft after he was allegedly involved in two retail thefts at retailer Staples, South Mall, 3300 Lehigh St., in August, according to Salisbury police. He also was charged with driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license, according to authorities.

Wanted person arrest

A 46-year-old male, of Whitehall Township, was taken into custody Sept. 2 after police learned he had an active felony arrest warrant when he was stopped for allegedly speeding during a targeted speed enforcement detail in the 2700 block of South Pike Avenue, according to Salisbury police.

Hit-and-run

A 77-year-old female, of Allentown, was cited for hit-and-run after she allegedly struck another vehicle in a parking lot at supermarket Giant, South Mall, 3300 Lehigh St., and left the crash scene Sept. 3, according to Salisbury police.

School grounds violation

A Salisbury High School student was cited Sept. 9 for possessing a vaping device while on school grounds, 500 E. Montgomery St., according to Salisbury police.

Trash fire

Officers found a resident in the 1600 block of Broadway burning a large pile of trash near their home Sept. 7, according to Salisbury police. Fire crews responded to put out the fire.

Noise complaint

Officers responded to reports of loud or disruptive activity in the parking lot at South Mall, 3300 Lehigh St., on three separate occasions Sept. 7 and Sept. 10, according to Salisbury police. Officers checked the area each time but did not observe or hear anything loud or disruptive.

Indecent exposure

A female encountered an exposer in the area of Walking Purchase Park, according to Salisbury police. The incident was reported Sept. 8.

Shots fired

Officers responded to the 2700 block of Honeysuckle Road for a report of shots fired Sept. 6, according to Salisbury police. The area was checked. Nothing was found.

Mutual aid

On Sept. 1, Salisbury officers took a 15-year-old male into custody in the 1600 block of Sterner Lane at the request of Northampton County Juvenile Probation, according to Salisbury police.

On Sept. 7, Salisbury officers assisted Allentown City police at South Albert Street and East Susquehanna Street for a hit-and-run crash, according to Salisbury police.

On Sept. 8, Salisbury officers assisted the Pennsylvania State Police on Interstate 78 with a vehicle fire, according to Salisbury police.

Scams

On Sept. 2, a resident in the 2800 block of Black Gum Drive reported being swindled out of “a significant amount of money” through an online interaction, according to Salisbury police.

On Sept. 5, a resident in the 1500 block of Herbert Street reported being swindled out of “a significant amount of money” during a phone call, according to Salisbury police.

Disturbances

On Sept. 1, officers responded to Salisbury Township High School, 500 E. Montgomery St., for a disturbance between two students, according to Salisbury police.

On Sept. 4, officers responded to Lehigh Valley Hospital, South Cedar Crest Boulevard, after two people argued about use of a restroom, according to Salisbury police.

On Sept. 4, officers responded to the 3300 block of Lehigh Street for a disturbance inside a moving vehicle, according to Salisbury police. Officers checked the area but did not locate the vehicle.

On Sept. 7, officers responded to Laubach Park, 1600 Lehigh Ave., for a disturbance involving a group of people, according to Salisbury police. No arrests were made.

On Sept. 7, officers responded to Lehigh Valley Hospital, South Cedar Crest Boulevard, for a disturbance between a visitor and staff, according to Salisbury police.

On Sept. 9, officers responded to a disturbance outside a home in the 1300 block of Fairfax Street involving a dispute over clothing items sold online, according to Salisbury police.

Traffic safety detail

On Sept. 2, Salisbury Township Police Department officers conducted a coordinated speed enforcement detail with officers from the Allentown Police Department in the 2700-3000 block of South Pike Avenue. The joint operation resulted in more than 80 vehicle stops and over 80 citations issued. One driver was arrested and taken into custody on an active felony warrant, according to Salisbury police. Additional traffic safety enforcement details are scheduled in various areas of the township over the next several weeks.

Automated school bus video violations

Since the beginning of the school year, a total of 16 automated school bus violations have been approved, according to Salisbury police. In addition, officers observed two separate violations and the drivers were issued state traffic citations.

Found property

On Sept. 1, a piece of jewelry was found at Lindberg Park and turned in to police for safekeeping. Anyone who may have lost jewelry at the park is asked to contact the Salisbury Township Police Department at 610-797-1447.
