Sherrye L. Sefcik, 84, of Emmaus, died Sept. 8, 2026, at Fellowship Manor in Whitehall. She was the daughter of the late Mathilde Stravino.

She was a graduate of The Allentown School of Nursing and Moravian College. She enjoyed her nursing career and held a variety of roles throughout her 50-plus-year career including staff nurse, supervisor, nursing instructor, flight nurse and nurse consultant.

She enjoyed traveling not only as a nurse but also with her dear friends. One of her favorite places was Aruba. She also enjoyed annual trips to New York City.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Madtes (Rhonda), of Old Forge, N.Y., Kevin Madtes (Mia), of Schnecksville; brother, Vincent Stravino (Evie); brother-in-law, Robert Bolton; many nieces, nephews and cousins; grandchildren, Skyler, Ryan, Henry, Harper and Grey. She enjoyed her retirement years spending time with them as often as possible.

She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Bolton.

Private graveside services will be held at Bethany United Methodist Cemetery.
