Helen M. Roveda, 90, passed away leaving behind a legacy of devotion to her family, her craft, and her community.

Born on Nov. 15, 1935, in Colle Umberto, Italy,

She was the cherished daughter of the late Luigi and Ida (Sandre) Roveda.

She spent her formative childhood years growing up in Eritrea before immigrating to the United States.

A woman of grace and perseverance, she went on to graduate from Allentown Central Catholic High School.

She was a talented hairdresser for over 50 years and the proud owner and operator of Elena’s Beauty Salon.

Through her warmth, conversational spirit, and skill behind the chair, her salon became a welcoming haven where clients were treated like lifelong friends.

Above all, her heart belonged to her family, and she cherished every moment spent as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was predeceased in death by her beloved daughter, Gina M. Borso, and her brother, Lorenzo Roveda.

She is survived by her loving sons, Robert J. Cimerol and his wife Robyn, and Victor A. Cimerol and his partner Lori; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever treasure her memory.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life was held Sept. 2, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1046 W. Cedar St., Allentown.

Interment followed the service at Union Cemetery in Hellertown.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory directly to Saint Francis of Assisi Church.
