The South Parkland Legion team dominated the Lehigh Valley League throughout the season to become regular season champion and earn a spot in the Region 2 tournament.

The Trojans led the league from start to finish and posted a 15-4 league record and 17-6 overall record.

In league play there were only two teams able to defeat Parkland this season with both Lower Macungie and Whitehall-Coplay holding two wins against SP.

One of the Lower Macungie wins came in the finale of the league tournament as the two teams battled for the tournament championship.

The South Parkland offense started its season with 54 runs in their first three games, including a 30-0 shutout over Salisbury. Ben Weninger hit two home runs in the game and drove in nine runs to pace the offense.

In addition to Weninger, Ryan Rooney, Andrew Bowser, and Carter Delong were keys to the Trojans offense throughout the season.

South Parkland led the LVL in runs scored with 123 and also allowed the fewest runs (45) of any of the five teams.

On the mound, Weninger was also one of the top names for South Parkland, along with Rooney and Ben Taylor as the pitching staff delivered six shutouts during the season.

In the postseason, South Parkland defeated Lower Macungie to force a second game between the two teams to determine the tournament champion.

The Mustangs pitching was able to somewhat hold down the Trojans offense, and the two rivals split the two league championships.

In the Region 2 tournament, the Trojans ran into a tough Boyertown Bears team in their opener and then fell to Hazleton in the double elimination tournament.
