The Emmaus High School girls tennis team is off to a 4-0 start this season, with shutout wins in all four matches.

The Hornets opened the season with a 7-0 win over Pocono Mountain East on Aug. 24.

Zoe Santana, Gab Tranguch and Brooke DiGiacomo won singles matches. Katie Kapp and Nat Hillegass earned a win at No. 2 doubles. Fiona Harvey and Avary Puliatte earned a win at No. 3 doubles and Riya Patel and Emily Kaufman picked up a win by forfeit in the fourth doubles contest.

In a 6-0 win over Bethlehem Catholic two days later, Santana and Tranguch won the first two singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores while DiGiacomo also won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

The doubles teams of Kapp/Hillegass and Harvey/Puliatte both won 6-0, 6-0 while Patel/Kaufman picked up another win by forfeit.

Emmaus earned another 6-0 win on Aug. 28 when it beat Pocono Mountain West.

Santana, Tran Huynh and DiGiacomo won singles matches against the Panthers. Kaufman and Patel earned a doubles win while Harvey/Puliatte and the team of Ava Schutz and Caroline Deutsch picked up wins by forfeit.

The Hornets won a nonleague match against Southern Lehigh on Aug. 29, 7-0.

Santana, Tranguch and DiGiacomo won singles matches against the Spartans. The doubles teams of Kapp/Hillegass, Harvey/Puliatte, Patel/Kauffman and Schutz/Deutsch also won matches.
