State Sen. Lisa Boscola has announced state funding totaling $3,079,291 for community development projects in the 18th Senatorial District through the Local Share Account – Northampton and Lehigh Counties and the Local Share Account-Monroe County.

Boscola said these grant awards were made possible by the collective efforts of the Lehigh Valley legislative delegation, Representatives Emrick, Flood, Freeman, Mackenzie, McNeill and Samuelson, working in a bipartisan fashion to secure the state funds, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, for investment includes the following local projects:

• Bethlehem Township – $60,339 Purchase of EMS Cardiac Monitor-Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company

• Bethlehem Township - $25,000 EMS Firefighter Monitoring Equipment

• Bethlehem Township – $110,580 Radios for Nancy Run Fire Company

• Bethlehem Township – $70,000 Bethlehem Twsp Police Patrol Vehicles

• Bethlehem Township – $22,190 EMS Stair Chair Purchases

• Bethlehem Township - $75,000 Radios for Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Company

• East Bangor Borough - $75,000 Public Safety Radios

• City of Easton - $75,000 Downtown Sidewalk Improvements Phase II

• Easton Redevelopment Authority - $95,437 Roof Top Air Handler Replacement at the Crayola Experience Building

• Freemansburg Borough - $175,000 Community Amphitheater Seating

• Freemansburg Borough- $99,396 Municipal Community and Cultural Center (Phase 4)

• Hellertown Borough - $105,057 Police Vehicles

• Lower Saucon Township- $385,589 LST Public Works Garage

• Northampton County - $75,000 Heritage Infrastructure and Accessibility Project – 1761 Tannery Historic Bethlehem Museum and Sites

• Northampton County - $75,000 Paving The Way: A Campaign for Our Neighbors Phase II New Bethany

• City of Bethlehem – $313,608 Bethlehem Emergency Shelter-Conversion to Year Round

• City of Bethlehem - $27,181 West Broad Street Renovations

The funds are generated by the state’s gaming facilities and may be used for economic development, community development and public interest projects.
