I recently visited County Line Orchard, 9200 Kings Highway, Kempton.
Located on Route 143 right before the Berks County Line is an Orchard and Farm Stand that has been operating for almost 40 years.
Owners Victor and Kimberly Fluke own the farm and run it with their five children.
Victor worked for the previous owners Todd and Cindy Smith and when they retired he purchased the farm and took over operations.
Todd and Cindy stayed in the area and helped the family with the transition.
The farm opens the last weekend of June and starts with apricots, cherries, and pick your own blueberries.
Peaches and nectarines come in next followed by apples and pears.
They also have seasonal produce available for purchase.
The biggest crop on the farm is apples.
They offer pick your own apples and already picked apples and apple products such as apple cider, apple juice, apple sauce, and apple butter from their own recipe.
Apple season usually starts around the beginning of September and they offer many different and unique varieties of apples.
They pick apples all the way into November.
They offer seconds available for purchase that can be used for sauce and baking.
Seconds are apples that may have visual defects but are just fine to eat.
The stand is open selling apples till January.
Their stand hours are Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m.- noon, Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
Feel free to call them at 610-756-6411 with any questions or checkout their website countylineorchardpa.com or their Facebook page.
