Penn T. Cooper Sr.

Kempton New Church member

Penn T. Cooper Sr., 67, of Kempton, died Aug. 8, 2026, at his home.

He was the widower of the late Leesa V. (Kloc) Cooper, who passed away Feb. 15, 2025.

He and Leesa were married for more than 42 years.

Born in Abington, he was the son of the late Dennis Cooper and Faye (Smith) Cooper.

He was a 1978 graduate of Bryn Athyn Secondary School.

He continued his education at Bryn Athyn College before earning his master electrician certification.

He most recently worked as a self-employed lumber broker for SPEC Wood and Marketing Solutions Inc., in Canada.

He was a member of Kempton New Church and a volunteer firefighter with the Bryn Athyn Fire Company.

He was also a longtime scoutmaster and committee chairman for Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 104 in Kempton, where he dedicated many years to guiding and mentoring young people.

He is survived by his sons, P. Torrey (Kathrine) Cooper Jr. and Brett Ryle Cooper, both of Kempton; daughters Elizabeth Violet Cooper of Kempton, and Emily Ann Cooper, fiancé of Ryan Virkutis of Pottsville; four grandchildren; brothers Garth (Bronwyn) Cooper of Bryn Athyn, and Glen (fiancé, Elisa) Cooper of Elverson, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his infant daughter, Heather Fayann Cooper, Elizabeth’s twin sister, and siblings Mark Cooper and Shelly Sills.

A resurrection service will be held at Kempton New Church, 583 Hawk Mountain Road, Kempton, in October.
