Wayne Emerson Snyder Sr., 85, died Aug. 10, 2026.
He was the son of the late Emerson and Marion (Roth) Snyder.
He graduated from Parkland High School in 1959, where he played varsity football as a running back and was vice president of his graduating class.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy.
He served as Lehigh County coroner for 12 years. He also pursued a variety of other careers, from shoe salesman and automobile service manager to investigator for the New York Railroad. He ultimately devoted much of his career to law enforcement and public service, including serving as chief of police in Sugar Grove, Ill.
He is survived by a twin sister, Elaine; two children, Wendi Elizabeth and Wayne Jr.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces; and five nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Lori Seip.
