The end of summer is approaching and a brand-new academic year at Catasauqua High School is about to begin. Welcome back to class!

Whether you’re just starting out or approaching the finish line, this year is your canvas — paint it with academic achievements, personal growth and lasting memories. Make every moment count by getting involved in the many clubs, sports teams and extracurricular activities the school has to offer.

Aug. 24 is the first day of school for CASD students.

CHS opens for all students 7:20 a.m., breakfast is served 7:35 a.m., and homeroom is from 7:40 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.

The high school has a new block and bell schedule for the 2026-27 school year. Please be sure to review this information on the school districts website at cattysd.org.

Upon the 2:35 p.m. dismissal, students should immediately exit the building, through the main doors, at their designated dismissal time, unless involved in after-school activities or functions. The buses leave exactly six minutes after the bell rings at the end of the day.

Students staying after school Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays who require transportation from the late bus must sign up in the main office before attending his/her after-school activity.

The first day of school for students attending Lehigh Career and Technical Institute is also Aug. 24.

The 2026-27 welcome packet contains important information to help new and returning LCTI students get off to a great start. The welcome packet includes the student code of conduct, the student attendance policy, an explanation of the grading system and a lot of other useful information about LCTI.

LCTI’s joint operating committee will next meet 6:30 p.m. Aug. 26 in the conference room, which is adjacent to the business office and directly accessible from Lot 4.
