Movie at Municipal
The Burger Shack food truck, a popular balloon-making clown named Bows, a face painter named Blossom and an entertaining movie made for a comfortable environment for families to gather at Municipal Park, Laubach Avenue and Smith Lane, Northampton. The park served as the site for the borough’s summer outdoor movie series. “SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” was the featured flick Aug. 14.
Special guests SpongeBob and Patrick received a rousing ovation with kids chanting their names and screaming with joy upon their arrival.
Bows, from the Tootsie the Clown and Friends group, interacted with families and youngsters as they picked the balloon animal or item of their choice for her to make. Faith Weidner, of Northampton, asked Bows for a bunny balloon.
Other balloon choices included a lady bug, giraffe, swan, sword, turtle, baby octopus and more.
Blossom was busy painting faces. Emily Sasdi, of Whitehall, said she was delighted to get her face painted.
Clive Bushay, of Northampton, and his three grandchildren named Prince, Paris and Ocean went for the balloons, and the two girls got their faces painted. Formerly of Brooklyn and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Clive enjoys living in Northampton.
