Monica M. Johnston, 81, of Whitehall, formerly of Miami, Fla., died Aug. 8, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Ronald Johnston.

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Laskos) Monkiewicz.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State University.

She was the director of admissions for Alexander Muss High School for many years before retiring.

She is survived by a brother, Jerome J. Monkiewicz and wife Robyn of Schnecksville; a sister, Leona Monkiewicz of Summit Hill; two nephews, Michael Monkiewicz and wife Carol and Joseph Monkiewicz; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael with Gayle and their daughter Isabella, Kaitlyn with Dennis, Joseph and Andrea.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
