David “Dave” Wayne Eckhart, 65, of Allentown, died peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospice July 21, 2026. He was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Campbell) Eckhart.

He was a member of the National Automatic Sprinkler Fitters Union Local #669 for more than 30 years before retirement.

He was an avid motorcyclist throughout his life. Dirt bikes and street bikes brought him immense joy, whether he was riding, racing, or watching others compete. He continued to follow motocross long after he retired from the sport.

He was also a passionate golfer, spending much of his retirement on the course with his brother, friends and work buddies.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; son, David; siblings, Paul (Joyce), Sandra, Debra; sister-in law, Diane. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald; brother-in-law, Mark.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Olde Homestead Golf Club Carriage House located on Route 309 at the entrance for the public driving range and par three course.
