Allen Township will be holding its inaugural Touch a Truck event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 22 at Howertown Park. Parking is available at 10 Short Lane.

Kids of all ages are welcome to climb, explore and discover the vehicles that keep communities safe and moving.

State Sen. Nick Miller, D-14th, will host a free community shredding event 9 a.m.-noon Sept. 12 at the East Allen Municipal Building, 5344 Nor-Bath Blvd. The event provides residents with a safe and secure way to dispose of sensitive personal documents such as old bank statements, tax records, medical documents and other paperwork containing personal information.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, will be having its fifth annual gift card bingo Sept. 19. Doors open 12:30 p.m., and the games will begin 2 p.m.

There will be 20 gift card games, five special games, 50/50 and side raffles, plus one door prize ticket. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and there will be a bake sale.
