Jean E. (Mann) Anderson, 85, of Orefield, died July 29, 2026, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital—Allentown.

She was the beloved wife of the late James D. Anderson.

Born on Dec. 18, 1940, in Heidelberg Township, she was the daughter of the late William Mann and Matilda (Schlichting) Mann Chekan and was lovingly raised by her stepfather, the late Andrew Chekan.

For over 20 years, she worked as a pieceworker and inspector in several textile mills throughout Allentown before retiring.

While she took great pride in her work, her greatest joy was always her family.

She had a gift for making everyone feel at home.

Her generous spirit, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved created countless cherished memories that will live on for generations.

She was also a bird lover and found great peace in watching the birds, often spending quiet moments enjoying their presence while working on her word puzzles.

She was an amazing listener, always offering a comforting ear and thoughtful presence to those who needed her.

She deeply cherished visits from her children, which brought her immense happiness.

With her grandchildren, she shared a wonderful imagination and playful spirit that created lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

She is survived by her children, Michael J. Anderson (Michele) of Orefield, Julie E. Michaels (Frederick) of Pottstown, Mary L. Mouzakis (Hercules) of Allentown, and Jeanie M. Anderson (Jose Zayas) of Allentown; 11 grandchildren; 18-great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased in death by her beloved son, Andrew M. Anderson; her husband, James D. Anderson; and her siblings, Donald E. Mann, Barry E. Mann, Stanley E. Mann, Richard J. Mann, William C. Mann, Marie M. Stahl, and Joyce E. Rex.

A celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of the family. No public calling hours.
