Theodore R. Gardner II, 91, formerly of Emmaus, died in his home in Santa Barbara, Calif., July 3, 2026. He was the son of the late Theodore R. Gardner and Margaret Knoll Gardner. He was the husband of Virginia Twining Gardner.

An Eagle Scout, he graduated from Emmaus High School, Class of 1952, where he was class president and wrote and directed the senior class musical “That’s for Sure.”

He played in the Emmaus High School Band.

He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1956 and served in the United States Air Force in Pensacola, Fla.

A businessman and sculptor, he also was the author of 39 books.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Melora, Julia, Abigail Schott and her husband, Stephen; seven grandsons; one granddaughter, all originally of California; sister, Audrey Racines, of Emmaus; sister-in-law, Linda K., of Emmaus; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Hon. James Knoll Gardner.
