The South Parkland Senior Connie Mack baseball team was riding a ton of positive momentum the last week, including winning its regular season finale by 17 runs to qualify for the postseason, and then taking down North Parkland in the first round of the playoffs.

But the 10th-seeded Trojans met their match in the next playoff game, falling to the second seed, Northampton, 14-11, this past Thursday.

The host Kids completed a wild comeback as they scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn the victory. They scored twice in their first at-bats, but South Parkland answered with a four-run top of the second. The Trojans added two more runs in the third and five in the fourth to go on top 11-8, but Northampton chipped away with two in the bottom-half of the fourth.

The Trojans finished with seven hits, two each from Jack Campbell, Brooks Wetherhold and Treyton Ryan, and one from Andrew Berrigan. Wetherhold tallied three RBIs and scored a run with a double, Campbell recorded a triple, two runs and an RBI, Ryan contributed four RBIs and one run scored and Berrigan scored twice. Ryan and Brayden Zobel combined to throw six innings on the mound.

South Parkland finished it season with a 10-9 overall record.
