Marjorie J. Ryan
Marjorie J. Ryan, 88, of Allentown, died Aug. 3, 2026.
She was the daughter of the late Watkin and Arlene (Wilt) Roderick.
She was the wife of Edward Ryan for 67 years.
After graduating from Allentown High School in 1955, she worked as a bookkeeper for the former Apple Jewelers on Hamilton Street, Allentown.
Following years as a stay-at-home mom, she became a state licensed agent for John Monaghan Real Estate.
Prior to her retirement, she served as a tipstaff for Lehigh County Court Judge Robert Steinberg for 12 years.
She was a known landscape oil painter and member of the Parkland Art League, where she served as president for several years and a member of the Palette Art Club of Bethlehem.
She was a first vice-president of the former South Allentown Republican Club, a member of the Allentown Flag Day Association and she worked for years as an official Lehigh County Election Poll Worker and Vote Tally Team. She was on the board of directors for an Allentown Chapter of AARP for several years.
She enjoyed family vacations in Stone Harbor, N.J. and state parks and traveling to major cities and Ireland and Hawai’i.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by Cynthia Schueck and her husband, Steve, of Green Lane; Michael Ryan, husband of Lisa, of Allentown; and Richard Ryan of Bethlehem; and her sister, Carol Hodek, of Allentown; grandsons, Michael Ryan, II and John Ryan, husband of Katarina, four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her service will take place 10:30 a.m. Aug. 7, 2026, at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton streets, Allentown.
Viewing will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the funeral home before the service.
Interment to follow at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Cemetery, Allentown.
