Carol Ann Mertz, 85, of Kutztown, died July 16, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born in Lynn Township, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Whitman) Zimmerman.

She was a teacher for 30 years and retired from Brandywine High School.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kutztown.

She was also active in the Kutztown Lioness Club and was the Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star 336.

She is survived by son, Scott R. Mertz (Leslie) of Kutztown, step grandchildren Michelle Fegely and Jeffrey Wagner, step great grandchildren, Owen, Olivia, Haven and Norah.

Her funeral service took place July 21 at Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville.

Interment was private.
